4. Use Power Words and Emotional Triggers

Certain words carry emotional weight and can make a headline more enticing. These are often called power words in copywriting. They can invoke curiosity, urgency, or strong feelings. Examples include: Secret, Proven, Easy, Free, New, Discover, Strange, Surprising, Ultimate, Limited, Guaranteed, etc.

Compare: - “Get Fit with Home Workouts” vs - “Get Fit Fast with These 5 Proven Home Workouts”

The second uses “Fast” and “Proven” which add oomph.

Another pair: - “Ways to Save Money on Travel” vs - “13 Insider Secrets to Travel on a Budget” The second uses “insider secrets” – implying exclusivity and things not everyone knows.

Be careful not to string too many hype-y words together or it starts to sound like spam (e.g., “Amazing Secret Hack to Instantly Earn Free Cash Now!” – that’s overkill and screams scam).

Use one or two power words that fit genuinely. For instance: - New (“Try These 3 New Strategies to Organize Your Day” – people pay attention to newness) - Proven (“Proven Formula for Writing Emails That Get Opened” – signals credibility) - Secret (“The Secret Ingredient That Makes Your Pasta Perfect” – triggers curiosity) - Easy (“Easy Ways to Boost Your Immunity” – appeals to our wish that things not be hard) - Free (if you genuinely have something free – “Free Checklist: Moving Made Simple” – everyone likes free)

Emotion-focused words like “mind-blowing, heart-warming, effortless, stunning” etc., can be used depending on context to evoke a vibe. But always ensure the tone matches your content and audience.
